Character Day

Today is CHARACTER DAY!!!!!!!! where we had to dress up as book characters, I'm dressed up as the one, the only HARLEY QUINN!!! but there are lots of other characters like Sandy and Danny from grease, Little Red Riding Hood, Cat Woman, and lots more. Here are some pics . . . . .

The New Library

Today we walked over to the new library.  One new thing I loved was that there were lots more seats then there were in the old library so almost everyone could sit down and read a nice book.  I was also impressed with glow up desk that they installed.

Today we held a 'TAPS OLYMPIC GAMES' I was in the country South Africa We Came 3rd Place overall,

Fruit Burst

My heart rapidly beats as I stare at the small flavorous cube.  I can't wait any longer I must feed on the block of lime, I slowly bring the lolly closer to my nose, I carefully unwrap it and breath in it's beautiful aroma, it smells of sweet lime and sour and sour lemon, I must devour the flavour.  I hurriedly stuff it in my mouth, I savour the lemon and lime cube, it melts as I softly drift off into dreamland for a couple of seconds and then...  I wake up as I realise that the sweet has dissolved...  The amazing taste of lime is no more.

Argument Writing

Should School Go To 5:00?

I think school should not go till 5:00 in the night because firstly it takes away quality time that you spend with your family. Secondly kids might have after school activities and If they won’t be able to make it they’ll have to quit and it might be something that they really like. Finally what if it gets dark then children will have to walk home in the dark, and that is definitely not safe.

Firstly, if school does end at 5:00 you would only get to spend 3 hours with your family before you have to go to bed at 8:00 and you and your family won’t be able to bond with your family.  You won’t get to know your family

Secondly, if kids are late they will have to quit and their parents will have payed a lot of money for nothing, and that would be a waste of money.

Finally, if it gets dark then there is a very good chance of a child getting hit by a car or a car crash happening and not only could it be a car crash it could be school bus that crashes because the road is too dangerous at 5:00.

And those are the reasons that I think school should not go to 5:00.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”  We all roared at my dad, my grandmother gave my father his present, a troll statue, “it’s hideous,” I whispered to my mother, she agreed.  “We have to get rid of it,” I softly said.  It had a massive round nose, humongous eyes, a triangle shaped head, and a ugly little smile.  We knew what we had to do.

The very next morning my mother and I sneakily put the troll on the wall right above the staircase and . . . . a cement floor.  I took my bouncy ball and threw it as hard as I could, and the statue went flying down right towards the floor, and. . . . .

IT SMASHED!!!  To pieces on the hard ground making a powerful noise, my father came rushing in and saw the ball in my hand and my mother’s hands over her mouth “We were just playing with the ball,” I said “and then Dane’ missed,” my mother whispered.  “I never really did like that statue,” he mentioned.

Finally, Room 20 walk to the firm wooden seats, the is dazzling but as the first row of girls slip into the pool and scream it begins to look unpleasant , I was it was my turn soon, suddenly the towering educator tells me and the rest of the 9 year old girls to line up for the 1 length freestyle, my white knuckles were shaking as if they were climbing up mount everest.

We were about to dive in ¨on your marks, get set, GO!!¨ Mr C hollered, we all darted into the attractive marine, I was past everyone of them until I was in the lead only a couple of more metres to go, suddenly I can see the end of the pool I'm almost there in 5, 4, 3, 2…

I touched the end of the pool and was declared the winner. I rapidly fire the tiny red block into Te Arawa´s scarlet container and walk over to Mrs Picard to tell her my time.  I couldn't believe that I WON!! I was absolutely blown away.

The Sheet Hut

My round head squishes up against the ceiling as I hide under the blue rectangle desk.  I hear the teachers comfy chair squealing like a baby. With two of my friends beside me, we all feel squished

as the desk closes in on us.  My book grows larger and larger as my squeezed face pushes down on it.  The lavender coloured sheet waves at me and grins.  My silent hands quiver and shake as the desk squishes me, the book is stepping towards me and the sheet  is smiling a deep dark smile, ¨Could this day get any worse?¨ I think to myself.

The Hangi

Flaming ngarehu (embers) look liked lava as the burning stones lit up.  There were 300 pieces of chopped up heihei (chicken), and there were delicious kumara (sweet potato) sitting patiently in soggy sacks.  Delightful paukena (pumpkin) laid silently like a sleeping baby in the wet bags.  All the appetizing miti (meat) and korare (vegetables) were being prepared to be cooked over the fiery rocks that started to tahu (burn).  It looked very whakawaiwai (delicious) it looked maharo (marvellous).
